CERT Attendees Learn Life Saving Knots for Search & Rescue
Join Malibu CERT to assist the City as needed for emergency disaster response in Malibu. It's also a great way to meet your neighbors and make new friends.

Malibu Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer members met Saturday at City Hall for a monthly general meeting where we train on a variety of emergency procedures. This Saturday, we learned basic life saving knot skills for search and rescue from Brad Davis (head of table), CERT Team Leader and Emergency Services Coordinator. The knots can be used as a harness, anchor, rope ladder or even to use for self-rescue.
The purpose of Malibu CERT is to assist the City by providing assistance, as needed, for emergency disaster response in Malibu and surrounding communities, and to educate and promote disaster/emergency awareness to all citizens. It's also a great way to meet new friends and give back to the community.
Free classes begin again Thursdays, January 31 through March 21, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall. (Class will not meet on February 28, 2013.) All classes must be attended in order to complete the full course. Missed classes may be made up at a later date. Call or email Brad Davis at (310) 456-2489 x260 or bdavis@malibucity.org for more info.
