Dead Grey Whale Washes Ashore In Malibu
Crowds of people visited the Malibu beach to see the large marine mammal up close.

MALIBU, CA – A large, dead grey whale washed ashore in the County Line Beach area in Malibu Sunday morning, according to reports.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the whale shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, according to ABC7. CHP officials told the news station the whale was described to be "the size of a semi-truck."
This comes after another dead grey whale was found off the Hermosa Beach coast March 18, and a young, live grey whale was seen swimming in Marina del Rey the same day. The whales are in the midst of their spring migration from Baja California to Alaska.

It's unclear how the whale died, although the animal has several deep gashes on its sides, according to ABC7.
Experts planned for a necropsy Monday to try to figure out the cause of death, CBS reported. Authorities aren't planning to move the whale, and instead are going to let nature take its course, according to the news station.
