Malibu AYSO Squad Excels in Bakersfield
The team places third in the AYSO Section 10 championship tournament.
After winning the AYSO Area 10E championship for the second consecutive year with 10 wins and only one loss, 15 members of the Malibu GU19 team traveled to Bakersfield this past weekend and placed third in the AYSO Section 10 championship with three wins, one loss and a tie.
The Malibu squad competed in a tournament with seven other area teams representing 66 cities, many much larger than Malibu. The local team's performance was a true testament to these girls’ dedication to AYSO as well as the many volunteers who have made Malibu AYSO what it is today.
The team is coached by Kam Majd. The players are Olivia La Monte, Nicole McMahan, Katherine Jacobson, Brooke Schwartz, Alana O'Herlihy, Sydney Majd, Soren Anderson, Brigand Blake, Zarah Ruffman, Danica Downing, Casey Conrad, Gabriella Rochin, Sam Williger, Claudia Conrad and Karena Thompson.
