Malibu native launches technology company aiming to help the world

Terry McGinnis, a Malibu native who has called the paradise city his home since childhood is gearing for one of his most important life moments of launching his very own technology company that will compete with publicly traded companies with endless budgets and large market capitalization.

Terry who has amassed thousands of followers across his social media channels like Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter has an impressive collection of accolades and projects under his belt from working with LA based studios such as Warner Bros. Discovery and Universal and acting as an ambassador for charities Sea Legacy and Only One is eager to start his new journey as a founder of a technology startup.

Crediting his altruism and charitable attitude to his life spent in Malibu which had inspired him to do good, be co-operative and as helpful to those around him as possible.

"Growing up in Malibu, you get to take in the best of our beautiful beaches, and our wonderful neighbors who are some of the friendliest in the world. Always going above and beyond to promote social causes, and to help others as much as possible. It is one of the reasons why I am so passionate about ocean conservation, and why I am who I am. Your youngest years are those most impressionable, so growing up in such a wonderful environment with people who are very caring, non-egotistic and supportive of good, definitely helped shape who I am today."

Answered the young entrepreneur who is excited to apply the good character he had developed thanks to his younger years in Malibu to his technology company Online Shop. A company he had started with his best friend and cofounder Siraaj Ahmed.

A far cry from the usual category of businesses that are started by those from Malibu or those residing in it, the company is aiming to provide a way for everyone to have the chance of starting a business online via the power of electronic commerce. Terry is adamant to make it the most affordable and accessible of all existing solutions, driving change in a very old and gate kept industry. Going as far as providing free access to college students and lifetime free access to veterans and government officials, pledging to make this the most open and transparent technology company in the world to date.

"We had over two years to build, test, fail, build some more and now hopefully succeed. We're carefully optimized so we are able to charge as little as $4.99 a month for the most basic subscription and $19.99 a month for the most expensive and feature rich, allowing you to run five simultaneous shops. And thanks to the artificial intelligence we are building, we are able to afford it which means we are the most affordable, accessible and most importantly the most helpful. I want us to be synonymous with anything and everything e-commerce. When someone says they want to start their very own brand, or a business - I want the first thought in their head following that statement to be 'Online Shop', and hopefully with what we are building, this dream can become reality. If my own heroes like Jeff and Mark Bezos can prove that anything is possible as long as you have a dream, than, nothing stopping us from achieving it too."

Terry is putting heavy focus on people and helping them as much as possible, with the market predicted to grow to over $10 trillion in the next 10 years, and most buying and selling being done online he is hopeful this is the right time to launch.
