MALIBU, CA — The city was recently recognized as a leader in composting by the state recycling association.

The California Resource Recovery Association honored Malibu with the Dave Hardy Leadership in Organics Award last month, in recognition of the city's organics recycling program outreach events and marketing.

The city has offered monthly virtual organic waste recycling trainings, in-person training for seniors, advertising and social media messaging around its organics recycling program.
