• 2 Malibu Beaches Unsafe For Swimming Due To Bacteria Levels (patch.com) — With the heat driving more people to the coast, Malibu residents are being urged to avoid swimming near Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove and Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach because of elevated bacteria levels. County health officials say exposure in these areas could cause illness and recommend checking the 24-hour beach conditions hotline or website before heading into the water.
   

• Turf drama sends celeb favorite Malibu Farmers Market packing to City Hall parking lot (latimes.com subscription) — Malibu's beloved Sunday Farmers Market has been pushed from Legacy Park into the Malibu City Hall parking lot while the city and organizers wrangle over permits and legalities. Vendors report lower turnout and visibility at the temporary hilltop site, as negotiations continue over a hoped-for return to the Malibu Library lot at Santa Monica College's local campus.
