Psychedelic Rockers New World Revolution Launches New EP

Malibu, California - August 28, 2024 - New World Revolution (NWR) has launched into uncharted musical territory with their just released EP Inner Space Explorers Pt. 1. Recorded in a solar-powered trailer in the Malibu Hills, the 4-track collection finds NWR mastermind Agent H, aka noted musician, film and video game composer, sound designer and mix engineer Herwig Maurer, getting personal, shedding light on his inner landscape, spiritual pursuits and struggles to find meaning in today's chaotic world.

"Ever Shining Light," the opening track and video single directed by Agent H, who, in addition to his music work, is also a noted visual artist and photographer, showing in popular galleries and appearing in Rolling Stone, is a punk-pop anthem and a prayer to the divine, with driving guitars, synth textures, and philosophical lyrics that blend Sufi poetry and Eastern Zen spirituality with NWR’s signature sci-fi edge. All while name-checking Robert Heinlein’s 1961 classic Stranger in a Strange Land and asking essential questions like “Where’s the good drugs at?” The video continues the modernist sci-fi aesthetic with a very The Man Who Fell to Earth (book 1963, film 1976) vibe. Some of the video’s cinematography was shot by Agent H’s long-term collaborator Eric Zimmerman, known for directing seminal videos from Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and other top artists.

On the EP, NWR continues reinventing psychedelic rock, blending power pop, punk, industrial, and alt-rock with an esoteric twist. Songs like "Free Fall" muse on bad ideas and restlessness, while "Unchain Me" offers catharsis. Throughout, NWR delivers the big hooks, humor, and unpredictable genre-bending fans have come to expect.

"Inner Space Explorers reflects my mission to find purpose and healing through spiritual means and inner exploration,” says Agent H. “The endless hunger and consumerism we’re confronted with today can only be counterbalanced by the 'Ever Shining Light' within."

Agent H pulled together an all-star lineup to bring his vision to life on the new tracks. "Ever Shining Light" features drums by industrial metal veteran Shok, whose hard-hitting playing underpins Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, and more. Spirit-driven Topanga chanteuse Cassidy Schneider lends her angelic backing vocals to the punk-pop prayer.

On "Free Fall," the super creative Thelemite Bryce Churchill layers on additional guitar, while noted Austrian film composer and Sofa Surfer veteran Wolfgang Frisch contributes bass and synth textures. Nina Hagen’s Band drummer and former Buddhist monk Jeff Mince, the Punk Monk, brings his dynamic drumming to propel the restless track.

For the cathartic "Unchain Me," Iranian guitarist Amir Eshraghi of popular Venice, CA band Little Galaxies delivers a searing lead guitar solo. Agent H called upon noted visual artist and drummer Timothy Williams to provide the driving rhythms. Schneider's vocals make another heavenly appearance.

The EP closes with "All The Way," which finds Churchill back for more slide guitar wizardry. Eshraghi returns with another blistering guitar solo, and Williams' formidable drums round out the lineup.
