Sean Hannity Heads To Malibu For Caitlyn Jenner Interview
The conservative Fox News host will be in Malibu Wednesday to conduct gubernatorial hopeful Caitlyn Jenner's first national interview.

MALIBU, CA — Fox News crews are heading to Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home Wednesday to conduct her first national interview since announcing her candidacy April 23.
Jenner, a reality star, LGBTQ activist, and former Olympian athlete, will sit down with conservative host Sean Hannity to discuss her bid to replace Newsom as the leader of the fifth largest economy in the world.
The interview was originally supposed to be a live town hall featuring questions from a live audience, Fox News told Politico, but that plan has been scrapped. The event is closed to the public and the media, and will air during Hannity’s regular nightly show Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT.

The interview will represent a chance for Jenner, a lifelong Republican, to pitch herself to Hannity’s large, right-wing audience, many of whom may object to her choice to come out as a transgender woman. Despite being one of the first celebrities to undergo gender reassignment surgery and a high-profile supporter of some aspects of transgender rights, Jenner said Monday that she opposes the rights of transgender girls to compete on girls teams.
“I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls' sports in school. It just isn't fair. And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” Jenner told TMZ in a Malibu parking lot Monday, reversing a previous position on a topic being debated in statehouses around the country. The remark sparked widespread outrage among LGBTQ supporters.

On Tuesday, Jenner released her first ad, a three-minute spot proclaiming herself a “compassionate disruptor.”
“The American Dream grew up here, yet career politicians and their policies have destroyed that dream,” Jenner said to images of burnt down houses and ‘closed’ signs. “It’s been locked away, closed, shuttered, left in the dark, burned down. The government is now involved in every part of our lives. They’ve taken our money, our jobs, and our freedom. California needs a disruptor. A compassionate disruptor.”
“It’s time to reopen our schools, reopen our businesses, reopen the Golden Gates,” she continued.
Jenner, who announced her candidacy April 23, is running on a traditional Republican platform. On her website, she called Sacramento a place where “fresh ideas, different perspectives and offers of assistance are ridiculed if they don’t come from the furthest fringes of the far left.”
Jenner wrote that Gov. Gavin Newsom put “politics ahead of science, special interest ahead of students, ambition ahead of safety and his campaign ahead of your personal and economic health.”
She said that she would “put kids back in school” and “reopen our economy,” though did not provide any further specifics about how she would do something that is largely already happening. She proposed cutting regulations by requiring a review of every regulation every ten years, veto any tax increase, and said that she would “remove restrictions and revisit any regulation blocking developers, charities and others interested in building affordable housing” in order to address the homelessness crisis.
Jenner has offered somewhat vague proposals on taxes, regulations, homelessness, but not more beyond that. To make headway in a crowded race, she will need to define herself to a voting bloc skeptical of both her celebrity and her gender identity.
In addition to Newsom, Jenner must also compete with three more experienced Republican recall candidates: former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, businessman John Cox, and former Rep. Doug Ose. Aside from that, Newsom’s poll numbers are ticking up as the state begins to reopen.
Patch reached out to Malibu city representatives to hear if Hannity’s visit will cause any traffic or security disruptions, but has not heard back. So far, the city has not said anything about the interview.
