Welcome to Patch Me Up
A new weekly column offering useful and interesting tips, trends, and techniques written by a Malibu plastic surgeon, me, Dr. V.
My full name is Dr. Nicholas Vendemia, M.D., but since my last name has such a myriad of pronunciations, most of my patients over the years have chosen to call me Dr. V instead, and they have recently succeeded in making the shortcut official.
I fell in love with Malibu during my Aesthetic Surgery fellowship in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, and feel tremendously fortunate for the warm 'welcome back' to Southern California that I received when I decided to expand from Manhattan into a partnership with Malibu native Dr. Darshan Shah and .
I hope that my column, Patch Me Up!, will become a one-stop-shop for all the latest information on the most interesting and influential local, national, and international trends in aesthetic medicine, in addition to the most innovative and successful beauty treatments.

For anyone thinking "Oh no, another beauty blog," think again. I'm looking to go beyond the standard beauty column and offer our community some unique perspectives on a breadth of topics ranging across general trends in healthcare, safety in cosmetic surgery, before and after photographs, medical research, and even travel. I do travel quite a bit between the east and west coasts, so you might even find some great travel photos along the way.
Aesthetic medical technology has advanced leaps and bounds in the past decade, and since the ever-expanding list of procedures and treatments can sometimes lead to an overwhelming set of choices, I encourage all of you to reach out to me with any questions you may have. One of the best parts of my job is that I get to meet so many interesting people on a daily basis, and over the years I’ve been asked just about everything. So don’t be shy, no matter how off-balance you think your question might be.
