9 Cars Damaged in Carport Fire at South Bay Apartment Complex

No one was injured and the cause was under investigation.

A fire damaged a carport and nine vehicles at an apartment building in Torrance today, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the 16600 block of Crenshaw Boulevard at 5:31 a.m. extinguished the flames in about 40 minutes, according to the Torrance Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
