Afternoon Waves Good for Surfing
It's looking much more lively out there today, and probably best when the tide is lower this afternoon.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing a new dose of energy out there. Most spots in this neck of the woods are pulling plenty of playful waves, with some larger sets.
Those conditions are mostly clean and glassy from the start, with a combination of new building westerly swell and some old leftover minor south southwest energy in the water.
That recipe is making for some crumbly and fairly broken-up lines, with a few racy shoulders to snag. Once again things are going to be a bit inconsistent due to the mid-morning high tide, but as that tide drops it'll get steeper and racier out there.

Most Manhattan Beach spots are seeing waist to chest high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling shoulder high waves, with maybe a few larger sets.
Taking a look at those tide thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. At 8:10 this morning it climbs up to a 5.3 high and then drains out to a negative 0.3 low at 2:42 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
