Application Period Opens For Manhattan Beach Boards And Commissions

Serving on a Manhattan Beach board or commission is an opportunity to step up, get involved, and make a meaningful impact, officials say.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The application period for the city's annual board and commission vacancies is now open.

"This is your opportunity to step up, get involved, and make a meaningful impact on Manhattan Beach," the city said in a statement.

To be considered for an available board or commission seat, applicants must reside in Manhattan Beach and be registered voters.

As of March 11, applications are being accepted for the following boards and commissions:

  • Planning Commission
    Four Members-At-Large seats
  • Parking and Public Improvements Commission
    Two Members-At-Large seats
  • Board of Building Appeals
    Five Members-At-Large seats
  • Los Angeles County West Vector Control Board
    One Member-At-Large seat
  • Parks and Recreation Commission
    Three seats: one Manhattan Beach Unified School District Nominee, one Member-At-Large, 1 Student Representative
  • Cultural Arts Commission
    Two seats: one Art Experience, one Student Representative
  • Library Commission
    Two seats: one Member-At-Large, one Student Representative
