Armed South Bay Donut Store Robbers Arrested

Four suspects believed to be connected to a string of armed donut store robberies throughout the South Bay were arrested.

EL SEGUNDO, CA — Four suspects believed to be connected to a string of armed donut store robberies throughout the South Bay were arrested in El Segundo, authorities said.

According to the El Segundo Police Department, authorities followed multiple leads throughout multiple cities in the region and were able to locate the suspect's vehicle on surveillance camera.

Police attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but authorities said the suspects didn't stop which prompted police pursuit in Los Angeles. The four teens, two of whom were minors, were arrested following the end of the pursuit.

Two 19-year-olds, Markhi Toles and Joshua Charles, and two 17-year-olds were arrested, according to ESPD. Authorities served multiple search warrants at the teens' houses.

"During the search warrants, detectives recovered multiple realistic pellet handguns, ski mask, stolen lottery tickets, and a stolen vehicle, that connected these suspects to the robberies," ESPD said in a statement.

On Monday, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Atorney and filed charges against the teens including robbery, felony evading, possession of a ghost gun and possession of stolen property.

Detectives believe that the suspects may have committed additional crimes and encouraged and leads to contact law enforcement.
