Police Investigate Death Of Baby At Day Care Center In Hawthorne
The seven-month-old was pronounced dead by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
HAWTHORNE, CA — An autopsy was pending Thursday on the body of a seven-month-old boy who died yesterday at a day care facility in Hawthorne.
Officers responded about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to a call of a child not breathing at a licensed residential day care facility in the 2300 block of 116th Street, according to a statement from the Hawthorne Police Department.
By the time officers arrived at the home, the child — identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as Jack Johnson — had been pronounced dead by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the police statement said.

Police investigated the boy's death, but no arrests were reported.
