Bump and Texture on the Water

Go surfing if you want to catch some decent corners, maybe.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's a fair amount of surf in the water, but we're starting off with some texture or bump just about everywhere on it.

Taking a look at the waves, there's a combination of energy in the water. We're seeing mostly west northwest and northwest windswell and some pretty minor south southwest energy in the background.

That recipe is making for some kind of crumbly and dumpy textured lines, with a few decent corners. Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee to chest high, with the top combo breaks pulling a few shoulder high sets.

At 8:58 this morning, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the tide drops to a 0.1 low, which will have several spots desperate for water throughout mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.6 high at 4:22 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 59 degrees. Good luck out there!
