Car Theft Suspect Arrested Following Hawthorne Search

Police set up a perimeter after suspect bailed out of a reportedly stolen car and fled, authorities said.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – After a 90-minute police perimeter search, a car-theft suspect was arrested in Hawthorne, authorities said Monday.

The perimeter was established about 2:15 p.m. Sunday after the suspect bailed out of a car reported to have been stolen and fled from the area of 122nd Street and Menlo Avenue, Hawthorne police Lt. A. Yoshida said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident about 3:45 p.m., she said. No injuries were reported.
Streets in the area were closed to traffic during the perimeter search, police said.
