Novastart Releases an Operating System That Shows AI Agents Working on a Shared Canvas

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 14, 2026 - Novastart has released an operating system that replaces the traditional desktop with a single infinite canvas. Apps, teammates and AI agents all work on the same canvas, and each AI agent operates with its own visible cursor.

Most AI agents that control computers run out of view or take over the user's mouse and keyboard. In Novastart, each agent has separate mouse and keyboard input inside the operating system and works in its own window. Several agents can run at once, and users can see each action, pause or correct an agent, and take back a window at any time.

"As AI agents take on more work, people need to be able to see what those agents are doing," said Thomas Fraher, co-founder and CTO of Novastart. "In Novastart, every agent has its own cursor on the same canvas as the user."

Main features include:

- An infinite canvas. Apps are arranged on one canvas that users can pan and zoom. Each canvas reopens in the state it was left.

- Visible AI agents. A lead agent can split a task among up to 10 helper agents, each with a labeled cursor and its own window.

- Team collaboration. Teammates invited by email can work in each other's windows at the same time, with windows streamed directly between computers.

The system opens more than 30 web apps, including Chrome, Gmail, Excel and Notion, as separate windows.

Novastart runs as an app on Windows 10 and 11 and Intel-based Macs, and can also be installed from a USB drive as the operating system on x86 PCs in about 8 to 15 minutes. Free, Pro and Team plans are available.
