Drive-By Gunman Robs Couple in Manhattan Beach

Armed robbers used their car to corner and rob a couple in Manhattan Beach.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA - Two people were robbed in Manhattan Beach by a gunman who leaned out of a car window and demanded their property, police said today.

The victims, a male and female were walking into a garage about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of 41st Street when a white sedan resembling a 1990s-model Toyota Corolla stopped in front of them, facing west, according to Manhattan Beach police.

“The rear passenger window of the vehicle rolled down and one of the suspects in the back seat leaned out of the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded their property,” according to a police statement.

The victims complied and the suspects fled in the car, heading west on 41st Street, then north on Ocean Drive and out of sight, police said.

The gunman was described only as a black man wearing a black shirt and a ski mask.
