DUI Checkpoint In Manhattan Beach This Weekend

Manhattan Beach police has a "zero tolerance" approach to DUI enforcement.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – The Manhattan Beach Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Saturday, June 9 from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety, increase the awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired driving and unlicensed driving, according to MBPD.

The checkpoint will be conducted in joint partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety, and funding for this checkpoint is provided to MBPD by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, the press release said.

Manhattan Beach police has a “zero tolerance” approach to enforcement, which sends a clear message to those who still don’t designate a sober driver before drinking and driving, the press release said. Simply put, “If you are over the legal limit, you will be arrested,” according to MBPD.
