It happened near the Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse.

A dying man was pulled off a small commercial fishing boat today at the rock breakwater near the Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse, but it was not clear how he was hurt.
Port police say they received a distress call from the boat.

Scott said there were no other people in the boat or in the water nearby. There was no word on what type of boat was involved, or what caused the wreck.
Lt. Jonathan Octeau at Port of Los Angeles police said it was not clear how the man had been injured, or of the ship wrecked.
The coroner’s office did not immediately have the man’s age or hometown.
