Healthy Living Festival Boasts Growing Appeal
More than 4,000 people turn out in the annual event's biggest crowd to date.
Sunday's fourth annual Healthy Living Festival in Metlox Plaza celebrated healthy lifestyles in the South Bay with an eye toward fun and recreation.
The event was sponsored by local organization GrowingGreat, which for the last 10 years has taught children healthier eating habits through area schools while promoting fitness and eco-friendly living.
But Sunday's event was for everybody, GrowingGreat co-founder Peggy Curry said.

"This is an event that really embraces the whole community," Curry said. "There were young kids and elders from the community inspired to learn new ways of living and eating. It was a delicious day had by all."
Having grown in popularity over the years, the event attracts thousands of visitors to its more than 60 exhibitors and vendors. Musical groups, fitness demonstrators and educational speakers entertained Sunday's diverse crowd, which came from all over Los Angeles.
