L.A. Kings Chariot Staff Tryout Registration Ends Friday 5 p.m.

Tryouts for men and women who want to be on the team's Chariot Staff will take place Sunday, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

The Los Angeles Kings will hold tryouts for their Chariot Staff, a group of men and women who represent the organization at games and events, from 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

A main focus of the Chariot Staff is the L.A. Kings Street Knights, a street hockey program tailored toward teaching children the basic skills of hockey at community-based facilities and schools through the donation of equipment, training sessions and manuals.

Those wishing to try out must register by 5 p.m. Friday at lakings.com/tryoutchariot. People trying out must check in between 5 and 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

The tryouts will begin at 6 p.m. with group interviews testing hockey knowledge and public speaking skills. The on-ice portion of the tryout, when hockey ability will be evaluated, will be conducted from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Everyone trying out must bring a warm-up suit, skates, gloves, a hockey stick and a helmet with a cage or facemask.
