Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well if you happen to be getting an early start to your weekend, then go grab a session. The latest energy has backed down a bit, but there are still plenty of playful waves out there!
The conditions are mostly clean early on, with a combination of some minor remnant south southwest swell and some decent lingering westerly energy in the water. That recipe is making for some kinda soft and mushy sectiony lines, with a few fast corners to pick off.
Most spots in Manhattan Beach are running about knee to stomach high, with the top combo spots pulling chest high waves, with maybe a couple plus sets.

Taking a look at those tides thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. At 8:42 this morning, it climbs up to 5.1 high which is going to have many spots pretty swamped throughout the morning. If you can...wait for that tide to turn around and drop a bit as it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 3:05 this afternoon.
If you're planning on paddling, you'll want to wear a 4/3 fullsuit with that water temp feeling like it has taken a dip, with most spots averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
