Pedestrian Injured in South Bay Hit-and-Run Crash
The incident took place at the intersection of South Vermont Avenue and West 232nd Street at about 4 a.m.

Detectives were searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a man walking on a street Friday in an unincorporated section of Los Angeles County east of Avalon Village, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident took place at the intersection of South Vermont Avenue and West 232nd Street at about 4 a.m., CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said. The collision occurred in an area patrolled by the CHP.
“Right now it’s classified as a hit-and-run,” Polizzi said. “Our investigators were still at the scene gathering evidence.”

The victim was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with undisclosed injuries, he said.
The driver apparently did not stop at the scene as required by law. The car was described as a green Ford coupe, Polizzi said.

“We got the call after the victim was transported to the hospital,” Polizzi explained. “The hospital called us to report the collision.”
