
Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report.
It looks like it's showing more signs of life out there. Yep, we're seeing plenty of playful-size waves, with a few larger sets.
The conditions are starting off fairly clean, which is a bit surprising considering the unstable weather, but that could change at any time. As far as the surf goes, there's a modest dose of energy. We've got mainly west-northwest energy and just a tiny amount of southerly swell.

That recipe is providing this stretch of sand with some drained-out, sectiony lines, with some nice corners to pick off. Most Manhattan Beach spots are running about knee- to chest-high, with the top combo breaks pulling shoulder-high waves, with a few plus sets.
At 4:51 a.m. Wednesday, the tide drained out to a negative 1.6 low, which will have many spots lacking water and being a little inconsistent, early to mid-morning. The tide will climb to a 4.0 high at 11:20 a.m., then drop again to a 1.8 low at 4:06 p.m., according to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration.

If you're going to grab a session, the 3/2 fullsuit will do you right, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
