Police Investigate Threat to Blow Up Manhattan Beach Church
An anonymous caller left a recorded message threatening to blow up First Lutheran Church .

A phone message threatening to blow up a Lutheran church in Manhattan Beach today caused police to open an investigation and send additional resources to patrol the area.
The message was discovered when an employee checked recorded phone messages at the First Lutheran Church at 1100 N. Poinsettia Ave. at 11:08 a.m., said Stephanie Martin of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The message was left at 8:11 a.m. by an anonymous male caller, believed to be the same person who called the church about a month ago and left a rambling message, she said.

Officers found no suspicious items or evidence of criminal activity, but hopes to identify the person who made the threat, Martin said.
