Police Arrest Suspect in South Bay Burglaries

Police arrested a man leaving a Redondo beach construction site they believe may be responsible for a series of South Bay burglaries.

The arrest today of a Lawndale man may clear up a series of construction site burglaries in the South Bay, a Redondo Beach police sergeant said..

Adam Doty, 28, was nabbed as he tried to leave a construction site with tools that had markings indicating they belonged to other people, said Sgt. Jon Naylor.

Investigators had been conducting a surveillance during the early morning hours when they saw Doty driving away, Naylor said.

Doty, who was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and possessing burglary tools, was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail, authorities said.
