SLAY Steak + Fish House Debuts In Manhattan Beach
The restaurant is located in the space formerly occupied by local favorite Darren's Restaurant.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — SLAY Steak + Fish House is now open in Manhattan Beach in the space formerly occupied by local favorite Darren’s Restaurant. The restaurant, which debuted May 6, is open from 4 to 10 p.m., seven days per week. Happy Hour is in the bar from 4 to 6 p.m., and dinner service starts at 5 p.m.
SLAY Steak + Fish House is the newest venture from Chef David Slay, the owner of Park Ave Steaks & Chops and il garage ristorante in Orange County, as well as the owner of Slay Estate and Vineyard in Santa Barbara, the press release said.
The menu features appetizers like Turkey Meatballs with spaghetti squash and caramelized onions, Roasted Portobello with thyme, marjoram and roasted garlic aioli, and Stuffed Squash Blossoms with honey and ricotta cheese. There are entrees like Twice Cooked Ahi Tuna with pesto mashed potatoes and spring tomato salsa, and Slow Cooked Pork Shank with Riesling wine and pan juices, heirloom carrots, and horseradish mashed potatoes.

The menu also includes farm-to-table salads and multiple vegan options. The restaurant uses locally-sourced vegetables and organic produce grown directly in the Slay Estate garden. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, from the Slay Estate & Vineyard, is also available at the restaurant, the press release said.
"My family lives in Manhattan Beach, so opening this local restaurant is close to our hearts," Chef Slay said. "Our goal is to create a friendly yet upscale environment that combines the best of neighborhood charm, locally sourced ingredients, and innovative cuisine."
