Thursday Surf Report

Much more inviting!!

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Manhattan Beach Patch surf report.  Well, we're definitely seeing a window of opportunity in between the storms.  Yep, there's a good amount of energy and those conditions have really cleaned up!

Most spots are seeing a pretty smooth surface early on, with a combination of some modest west northwest swell, some northwest windswell and small south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is providing some fast sectiony lines, but some of the sets are a bit walled.  Most Manhattan Beach spots are pulling waist to shoulder high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling head high waves, with a couple plus sets.

Taking a look at those tides thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Admistration.  At 7:59 this morning it pushes up to a 6.4 high which will have many breaks pretty full throughout the morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 1.3 low at 2:47 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!

FYI...Remember the County Health Department says surfers and swimmers should stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near storm drains and river mouths.
