• Update: Dome Fire grows to 6,159 acres in Mariposa County, containment still at 40% (sacbee.com) — A major wildfire, the Dome Fire, has already burned 6,159 acres in Mariposa County near Wawona Dome in Yosemite, and firefighters have it only 40% contained. Officials say the blaze grew 260 acres since the last report, and its cause remains under investigation. Residents should stay alert, as most of the fire’s perimeter is still uncontrolled despite ongoing National Park Service efforts.
   

• Las Vegas firm's Yosemite road proposal draws protests (reviewjournal.com) — A Las Vegas real estate firm that bought 83 acres near Yosemite, documented in Mariposa County property records, is seeking a land swap and easement for a 700‑foot private road into the park. Environmental groups, including Sierra Club activists, are protesting in Nevada, warning it could open the door to more privatization of public lands. Federal officials say no land exchange has been approved and full environmental review would be required.
