• USA Water Polo Announces Rosters for Inaugural 4x4 Open Championships (swimmingworldmagazine.com) — Team USA's women's water polo roster for the new 4×4 World Aquatics championships includes attacker Jewel Roemer, proudly listed from Martinez. She'll compete in Dubrovnik, Croatia next week alongside other national team standouts, with all matches streamed live on World Aquatics' YouTube channel.
• Contra Costa considers cutting ties with ICE. Its sheriff says no (mercurynews.com) — Contra Costa County officials meeting in Martinez are weighing whether to adopt a stricter sanctuary-style policy limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities, even as Sheriff David Livingston insists on continuing some ICE notifications for serious offenders. Immigrant advocates and several supervisors argue that any collaboration fuels fear and distrust, while others worry about releasing repeat offenders back into local communities.
