The event, part of "Run for Education Week," aims to push total fundraising past $2 million, with free entry for MUSD students, volunteer opportunities, and strong backing from the Martinez Refining Company and other local sponsors.
   

• High School Football: Justin-Siena gives up 2nd-quarter lead in 28-15 loss at Alhambra (napavalleyregister.com) — Alhambra High's football team in Martinez pulled out a 28-15 home win over Justin-Siena after overcoming an early deficit and a flurry of penalties. Local fans saw big plays from Bulldogs quarterback Lane Collins and running back Shane Sweany, while Justin-Siena's Bryden Landry and Ansel Emana kept the visitors competitive until a late interception sealed the result.
