Coroner IDs Man Killed In Friday's Hwy 4 Crash
The 59-year-old's work truck was hit from behind and ran off the roadway, CHP said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – A man killed Friday in a collision on state Highway 4 west of Martinez has been identified as 59-year-old Daniel Curtice of Manteca, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
Curtice died after the 2013 Ford work truck he was driving ran off westbound Highway 4 east of Franklin Canyon Road, hit a large wooden post and ended up on its roof shortly after 6 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Brandon Correia.
The crash happened after Curtice apparently swerved to possibly avoid something in the road and began to slow down when he was hit from behind by a man driving a Ford Focus, Correia said.
