County Lifting Limitation on Vital Records Copies
The rationing was due to a statewide shortage of specialty paper.

Regular issuing of birth, death and marriage certificates has resumed following a temporary paper shortage, Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder officials announced Thursday.
Both the county’s Clerk-Recorder and the Health Services
departments have lifted a one-copy limit on the number of these documents customers could receive that was imposed in August.
The rationing began due to a statewide shortage of specialty paper, county officials said. The company that supplied the paper, which meets certain security guidelines, apparently went out of business.

“We’re glad that this rough period is behind us and we can
continue to meet citizen’s demands and provide excellent customer service,” Clerk-Recorder Joe Canciamilla said in a statement.
The office received a several-month supply of paper on Wednesday, according to county officials.
