Deputies Serving Search Warrant Near Martinez Find 2 Assault Victims

MARTINEZ - Sheriff's deputies serving a search warrant in unincorporated Martinez Tuesday evening found one victim who'd been stabbed and another who'd been shot in front of the home they were preparing to search.

Just before 6 p.m. deputies with the Contra Costa County Anti-Violence Support Effort (CASE team) were preparing to serve a warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of Shell Avenue.

They were just around the corner from that location when they heard a gun shot and responded.

At the scene they found one person with a gunshot wound and another person suffering from stab wounds.

They were both transported to a hospital.

The suspect remains at large, and a description was not immediately available.
