Fall Colors At John Muir National Site: Photos Of The Day
Autumn colors are on full display in Martinez at John Muir National Historic Site.
MARTINEZ, CA — The online page for the John Muir National Historic Site proclaims, "Muir’s writings convinced the U.S. government to protect Yosemite, Sequoia, Grand Canyon and Mt. Rainier as national parks." In fact, the park service calls Muir the Father of the National Park Service.
John Muir's fruit ranch was in Martinez. Patch reader Claus Weisemann of Alameda visited the John Muir National Historic Site last Saturday and snapped some photos of the natural beauty. The first photo above was taken with his cellphone. The second with a Nikon DX. While he focused on the glowing beanch in the foreground, Claus points out the old cart under the tree in the background.
Thank you for sharing your photos, Claus!
