• Observances Planned for 25th Anniversary of 9 (diablogazette.com) — Martinez residents are invited to a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the September 11 Monument near the Amtrak station on Marina Vista Avenue, starting at 9 a.m. Local officials, including City Council members and the police chief, will offer brief remarks, followed by a moment of silence and bagpipes, while a separate Contra Costa Fire ceremony takes place later in Clayton.
