Join County Supervisor Federal Glover’s “Community Coffees”

In an effort to bring residents together and discuss County issues that affect them, Supervisor Federal Glover will host a series of informal Community Coffees in Martinez.

The Community Coffees are open to all, where coffee and donuts will be served to all who attend. Residents will be able to learn about Supervisor Glover’s Northern Waterfront Initiative and its potential impacts, as well as his vision for County buildings and operations in Martinez. From animal control to the transportation system, Supervisor Glover’s vast experience in County government can help inform and engage residents on a variety of issues.

“It’s important that citizens be active in the political process,” states Supervisor Glover. “Many people don’t attend our Supervisor meetings or hear a lot about County government. However, many changes are happening in Martinez and within the County. Community Coffees provide people with an opportunity to meet their fellow residents, ask questions and get answers.”

Community Coffees will take place at 10 a.m. at the following Martinez locations:

· Saturday, Aug. 27 ̴ Starbucks, Virginia Hills, 6688 Alhambra

· Sunday, Aug. 28 ̴ Barrelista Coffee Shop, 736 Main Street

· Saturday, Sept. 17 ̴ Starbucks, 504 Muir Station, Center Ave

Supervisor Federal Glover has been representing Martinez on the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors since 2011. He supports a strong urban limit line to control growth and protect open space. He has helped secure $1.8 billion in transportation funding for local roads and highways.

He is leading the effort to fund Highway 4 cameras to curb freeway shootings.

Supervisor Glover is supported by the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council, Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder, Martinez Councilmembers Lara DeLaney and Mark Ross, Sheriff David Livingston, District Attorney Mark Peterson and the Deputy District Attorneys Association, the Teamsters and the California Nurses Association.
