In an effort to help pay for some of the family's costs, $1,855 had been raised as of 3:45 p.m. today through a website established in the memory of another deceased Martinez teen.
The website, Hersmile.org, is part of a nonprofit created after the death of 14-year-old Martinez Junior High School student Jenna Betti, who was tragically struck by a train in Martinez in 2014.
Parrilla went to the same junior high school.
School district officials said grief counselors are available at the school as well as at Morello Park Elementary School, another school he attended.
