Martinez, Voice Your Opinion: City Launches Survey

The online survey takes mere minutes to complete, and is a great opportunity to give feedback on types of businesses you would like to see.

MARTINEZ, CA – The City of Martinez is seeking local input with its online “Your Voice Your City” Energizing Martinez Economic Health Survey for residents and business owners, part of the City’s Economic Development Action Plan.

The Economic Development Action Plan will be used to guide future economic development strategies and decisions of the City, according to officials.

"The survey results will help guide the development of the City’s Economic Development Action Plan (EDAP), which will become a blueprint for the City’s economic development strategies and decisions in the coming years," the city said. "Enhancing quality of life by retaining and attracting the types of businesses Martinez residents desire will be a critical goal of the EDAP."

Goals of the plan include:
  • Educating the community about the economic assets and needs of the commercial corridors and economic centers throughout the City.
  • Enhancing the City’s quality of life by keeping and recruiting businesses that Martinez residents and employers desire.
  • Bolstering revenue for City services such as public safety and park maintenance by supporting existing businesses and creating an economic climate that will attract new businesses.

“The City Council has made economic development one of its top priorities,” said City of Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder. “Encouraging businesses to locate and expand in Martinez is important to maintaining and enhancing our City’s exceptional quality of life. This survey will assist us in focusing our resources and actions in a manner that fosters a positive business climate which generates job growth and encourages investment in the community. It is essential that we hear from our business owners and residents in this effort.”
