Pair Busted With Stolen Mail, Ski Masks, Rifle, Ammo In Car: Police

Arrests of the two from Contra Costa County stemmed from call of suspicious vehicle in Petaluma. [Breaking]

SoNOMA COUNTY, CA – Petaluma police arrested two Antioch residents after a weapon, ammunition and stolen mail were found in their vehicle early Tuesday morning.

Police were informed around 4:50 a.m. of a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of Corporate Circle.

Police said they found an unloaded and modified .22-caliber rifle that had been stolen in Pittsburg, live ammunition of various calibers, an empty 20-round magazine, ski masks, gloves and a large amount of mail
belonging to residents in Petaluma and elsewhere in the Bay Area inside the vehicle.

The occupants of the vehicle, Malia Asenaca Hoopai, 24, and Artis Malcom Crenshaw, 26, both of Antioch, were booked into Sonoma County Jail.

Hoopai had warrants for her arrest for a firearms violation and providing false identification to police. Hoopai admitted stealing mail to use in identity theft, Sgt. Ed Crosby said.
