Rosebud At The Waterfront: Martinez Photo Of The Week

MARTINEZ, CA — "When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long, and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong, just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow lies the seed that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose."

"The Rose," a song made famous by Bette Midler, is exactly what came to mind when viewing this photo sent in by Nick Hubbs, a 17-year-old Martinez resident.

Nick says he got into photography around three years ago and that he recently took the photo at Martinez Waterfront Park.
