Bibliocraft: Making Art with Recycled Books

Artist demonstration at Menlo Park Library Saturday, August 22

On August 22, the Menlo Park Library will feature a presentation by artist Taun Relihan, who will show adults & teens how to turn old, worn out books into works of art.

Books that are coming apart or deteriorating can be rescued and used to make easy gifts or profound works of art. In this 90-minute presentation Relihan will demonstrate the tools and techniques used to turn book pages into art. Taun Relihan is a book artist, photographer, longtime Menlo Park resident and paper addict. She will share how she uses book parts in her own fine art, and will show and discuss crafted items that can be made with book pages.

The event will take place Saturday at 1:00 p.m., downstairs at the Menlo Park Library, located at 800 Alma Street. More details can be found at the library’s website, menlopark.org/library, or on its Facebook page at facebook.com/MenloParkLibrary.
