Cascada de Flores Performing at Menlo Park Libraries

Free family program taking place at Main and Belle Haven Libraries July 1.

Arwen Lawrence & Jorge Liceaga of Cascada de Flores have been working with and performing for youth of all ages and backgrounds for over 15 years, creating and sharing beautiful melodies, stories and fun--and on Wednesday, July 1, they will be sharing their talents at both the Menlo Park and Belle Haven Libraries, during a pair of free family shows.

During their library performance, Cascada de Flores will present “The Tree and the Donkey Who Loved to Sing,” AKA “El Abuelo.” The bilingual and participatory story explodes with the song, ancient musical instruments, poly-rhythms and sweet characters of Mexican music and dance.

Cascada de Flores will perform at the Menlo Park Main Library, located at 800 Alma Street, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1; and at the Belle Haven Branch Library, located at 413 Ivy Drive, at noon.
