Eastside 47, Menlo 44

The Menlo girls' basketball team stayed neck and neck with Eastside until the last seconds of Friday's game before falling 47-44 in West Bay Athletic League play at home.

Guard Lauren Lete led all scorers with 17 points for the Knights, who move to 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the WBAL-Foothill.

The Knights drew to within 45-44 of the Panthers before Alexis Simon sealed the win with two free throws in the final 10 seconds. Menlo jumped out to 14-7 first-period lead but a 19-point third quarter helped keep Eastside afloat.

Menlo plays current WBAL division leader leader Mercy-San Francisco at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at home.
