2 Illegal Guns, 2 Arrests In Separate SMC Traffic Stops: Police
One gun was found concealed during a traffic stop, and another was seized in a hotel parking lot incident, police said.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Officers recovered two loaded, concealed firearms and made multiple arrests following a pair of traffic stops over the past week, police said.
In the first incident, South San Francisco Police Department patrol officers said they pulled over a driver for vehicle code violations near Hillside Boulevard and South San Francisco Drive.
While searching the car, police said they found a loaded, unregistered handgun hidden under the driver’s seat. The driver said he acquired the weapon "off the street" and was arrested, police said.

The second incident involved occurred when an officer said they noticed suspicious activity in a hotel parking lot on South Airport Boulevard.
The occupants of a car were observed wearing dark clothing and face coverings in what police said is a high-burglary area.

Police said they searched the car and found a loaded Glock 17, which had previously been reported lost out of Alameda County, along with additional ammunition.
Two individuals, including one person legally prohibited from possessing firearms, were arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
Police have not released their identities at the time of publication.
