Endeavour Shuttle Launch Delayed

NASA Ames to reschedule launch party.

STS-134 Endeavour shuttle launch Director Mike Leinbach announced that the launched will be delayed at least 72 hours. NASA Ames had planned to host a launch viewing party and had doors open at 10 a.m. The news about Endeavour's delay became official at 10:14 a.m. today.

Endeavour, scheduled to launch at 12:47 p.m., was postponed due to an issue that arose in today’s launch scrub. During countdown, "engineers detected a failure in one of two heater circuits associated with Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) 1."

Engineers were unable to activate the heater.
