Family Fun Run/Walk Added to Menlo Summerfest!

Fleet Feet Menlo Park's Free Summerfest Family Fun Run With Popsicles, Photo Booth, Freebies, Friends and Loads of Fun, Sunday, July 17!

Join in the fun at Fleet Feet Menlo Park’s all-new family-friendly Summerfest Fun Run & Walk starting 9 a.m. in Fremont Park before the opening of Menlo Summerfest on Sunday, July 17.

The first 75 who pre-register for the free Summerfest Family Fun Run & Walk event will score a popsicle-themed t-shirt in celebration of Saucony’s new vibrant popsicle-colored line of Run Pop running shoes. There will also be a limited number of the Saucony Run Pop shoes for people to try out on a first come, first serve basis.

The 1-mile or 3.1-mile courses wind through downtown Menlo Park and water will be available on the longer route. Go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. Once you finish your race, you’ll receive a cool-down popsicle, refreshments and other fun freebies. Be sure to celebrate your success in the old-school ice cream truck photo booth with your family and friends.

The running pros at Fleet Feet of Menlo Park are sponsoring the event and they’re experts at putting on a good race—they put on a Fun Run every week from their store. “It’s very social, lots of people running and talking with their pals,” says Jim Gothers, owner of the Menlo Park Fleet Feet. “Afterwards we have a social hour in the store where people hang out. Some people see running as a chore and intimidating, and we’re all about keeping it fun and enjoyable. We like to get people exercising together; it’s more fun with others. It builds community and that’s what our store’s all about.”

Pre-register early for the free event to get your t-shirt on the Menlo Park Fleet Feet site.
