M-A Varsity Boys Beat Bellarmine in 4x400M at Serra

It was an amazing finish to the Serra Top 7 Track and Field Invitational on April 14th. M-A beat Bellarmine by 1 point to take the meet. It all came down to the 4x400M Men's Varsity Relay.

It was an amazing finish to the Serra Top 7 Track and Field Invitational on April 14th. The M-A men's varsity 4x400M team had to win in order to beat Bellarmine to place first in the meet. Bellarmine owns the second best time in CCS and we convinced they could beat M-A. The team of Michael Hester, George Baier, Jordan Scandlyn, and Di'Jonn Williams showed that they could perform under pressure and won the race. (see pictures)

  • Annie Harrier had a strong meet. She finished 6th in the varsity 400 and helped the 4x100 and 4x400 to 3rd place finishes. Anne is a freshman.
  • Cassie Stansberry ran the fastest leg of that 4X400 to pace the girls to the fastest time of the season in that event- 4:12.95 where they took 3rd.
  • Annika Roise ran a huge personal best in F/S 3200 and finished second.
  • Naomi Baer ran the 100, 200 and Long Jump and had personal best in each for the F/S team.
  • Naomi Tovar had one of her best jumps of the season to finish 6th in the Varsity Long Jump, as well as anchor the 4x100.
  • Kadri Green ran an amazing 300 Hurdles to break his own PR by over 1.5 sec and finish 4th in the event as well as anchor the varsity boys 4x100 team to a 3rd place finish and a top 10 time in CCS with 44.30 time.
  • Ian Proulx finished 2nd in the Pole Vault and vaulted 13 feet for a new personal best and another top 10 CCS mark.
  • Nick Garcia came up big in the long jump with a 1 foot PR to finish 5th and also ran a great leg on the 4X100 relay.
  • Michael Hester won the 800 with a new personal record of 1:57.42 and also helped the 4x400 team break the meet record.
  • Zach Plante also had an impressive day in multiple events. He ran well in 4X100, then finished 5th in the 400 with a full second PR and 7th in the 200.

Many of the athletes will be competing today at the exclusive CCS Top 8. M-A has 24 athletes attending.  'Playoffs' for the PAL league are Friday.
