Major Earthquake Drill Set to Impact Thursday

The Great California ShakeOut will see students all over San Mateo County (and California) preparing for the worst.

Written by Matthew Sanderson and Jacob Bourne:

Students in schools across San Mateo County areĀ ready to drop, cover and hold as they prepare for the annual ā€œShakeOutā€ earthquake drill on Oct.17 at 10:17 a.m.

The local kids will join the much of the rest of CaliforniaĀ in participating in the Great California ShakeOut drill.Ā

Officials urge all residents and businesses to become better prepared for major earthquakes by participating in the drill. California is a high earthquake risk area. If practiced now, when an earthquake actually occurs, San Mateo CountyĀ will take the correct action.
